Ernest Vargas

ERNEST VARGAS was admitted to the California State Bar in January 1965 and has practiced law his entire career representing injured parties, and heirs of those killed, in accident cases caused through the fault of a negligent or otherwise legally liable party under the law.

During his many years of practice, he has also been admitted to practice, on a case-by-case basis, before the Federal and State courts of Hawaii, Arizona, and Nevada, representing California residents who were injured or killed while visiting those states. He has also been admitted to practice in the U.S. Territory of Guam, where he represented the heirs of a Chinese man who died while taking a scuba diving course while vacationing there from his home in Japan.

He has served as an Arbitrator, Mediator, and Settlement Officer for the Los Angeles County Superior Courts, Arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association, and independently selected Arbitrator and Mediator for private parties. He has also served as a Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles County Municipal Court. He was a Referee for the California State Bar Court’s Disciplinary Panel as well as a Mandatory Fee Arbitration Officer. He has lectured at seminars for the University of California Continuing Education of the Bar. He was a member of the Accident Claims Committee of the American Arbitration Association. He has also served as the “Uninsured Motorists” Committee Chairman for the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association.

Ernest Vargas was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in June of 1961 after completing four years of a Reserve Officer Training Course at UCLA. He obtained a deferral at that time to attend Law School through September of 1964, at which time he reported to the 2nd Logistical Command in Fort Lee, Virginia. He was elevated in rank to 1st Lieutenant and was selected as Commander of the Basic Officer’s Course at the Quartermaster School, leading 75 Lieutenants through the program. He was assigned to the 2nd Logistical Command’s Logex (Logistical Exercise for Reservists) for which he received a commendation for exceptional service. Upon his discharge from his military obligation, he was elevated to the rank of Captain.

He has been admitted to the Supreme Court of the State of California, the U.S. District Court of the California Central District, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, the U.S. Court of Military Appeals, the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court of the California Southern District, the U.S. District Court in Reno, Nevada, the U.S. District Court in Las Vegas, Nevada, the U.S. District Court in Tucson, Arizona, the U.S. District Court in Honolulu, Hawaii, and the U.S. District Court of Guam.

He has published articles in legal publications on “Comparative Negligence - Recent Developments,” and “Liability in Food Cases,” and has written “Legal Briefs” columns for local magazines in the Glendale and Pasadena areas.

He has been designated, and has testified, as an “expert” in Legal Malpractice cases.

On his off time, he enjoys tennis, golf, snow skiing, and scuba diving.

Robert Vargas

ROBERT VARGAS was admitted to the California State Bar in January of 1988 and has practiced law his entire career representing injured parties, and heirs of those killed, in accident cases caused through the fault of a negligent or otherwise legally liable party under the law.

During Law School, he served as a Law Clerk for Judge Robert Olson in the Pasadena Branch of the Los Angeles County Superior Court and also served as an Assistant to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, for the Covina Judicial District, prosecuting traffic offenses.

He has served as an Arbitrator and Mediator, as well as a Judge Pro Tem, for the Los Angeles County Superior Courts. He has also been independently selected to act as an Arbitrator and Mediator for private parties. He has been on the Board of Trustees for the Pasadena Bar Association, and as an Arbitrator/Mediator for the California State Bar “Attorney-Client Fee Dispute” program.

He has been admitted to the Supreme Court of the State of California, the U.S. District Court for the California Central District, the United States Supreme Court, and the U.S. District Court in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He has lectured on the subject of “Auto Insurance Law and Accident Litigation in California” for the Lorman Education Services. He has written articles in “Recent Developments in Government Claims” for the Pasadena Bar Bulletin and articles on “Recent Cases” for the legal publication of the Vargas & Vargas law firm.

He started his law practice with the Law Offices of Oliver, Sloan, Moore, Vargas, McMillan, Jacobs, and Pico from 1988 through 1993, and has been a partner in the Law Offices of Vargas & Vargas from 1993 to the present.

Robert Vargas has been very active in community affairs, serving as a volunteer for 22 years with the Pasadena Tournament of Roses, serving in various capacities including the selection of the Parade’s Queen and Court, and hosting the visiting football teams. He was the Membership Drive Co-Chairman for the Pasadena University Club in the year 2000, member of the Breakfast Round Table in Los Angeles for more than fifteen years, co-chairman for the “West Campus Renovation Project” for the Clairbourn School in San Gabriel, and Committee Chairman for the Introductions/Invocations Committee of the Pasadena Chapter of Rotary International.

His personal interests include golf, tennis, snow skiing, scuba diving, motorcycling, flying, travel, photography, reading, and writing. He is a member of the Annandale Golf Club.

Daniel Amos

DANIEL AMOS was admitted to the California State Bar in December of 1985. He started his career at the prestigious Greene, O’Reilly, Agnew & Broillet law firm handling cases involving negligence, premises liability, dangerous conditions of public property, product liability, and medical malpractice. As a dedicated consumer lawyer, Daniel believes in fighting for economic justice for each of his clients.

Daniel has also been an advocate for the community and has offered legal services to help those most in need. In 2015 he founded the non-profit Human Trafficking Legal Network (HTLN) to help victims of human trafficking find civil representation against those responsible for their suffering. In 2009 he  founded a California State Bar Lawyer Referral Service, Higher Legal, LRS #130, and provided pro bono legal services with the UCLA Mobile Clinic. From 2001 to 2004 he served as a Judge Pro Tem in the Los Angeles Superior Court. From 1996 to 2001 he volunteered as an arbitrator for the Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.

His personal interests include ultra trail running. Daniel has completed many marathons and ultra trail marathons including several 100K races. He loves the outdoors.
